Brazil launches digital ID based on private blockchain / A consistent government policy push
According to Cointelegraph, Brazil is launching a new national identity initiative powered by blockchain technology. The states of Rio de Janeiro, Goas and Parana will be among the first states to issue identity documents on-chain through a private blockchain developed by Serpro, Brazil’s national data processing service. The decree stipulates that by November 6, it should be possible to issue identity documents through blockchain technology throughout Brazil. (PANews report)
