Coinbase CEO: The company currently holds about 2 million BTC, please be wary of false information

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong tweeted: “Our finances are public (we are a public company) and we hold about 2 million BTC as of September 30 With a daily value of about $39.9 billion, we need to come together and build this industry responsibly, please be wary of disinformation. ”

Previously, Binance CEO CZ said on Twitter: “Coinbase Custody holds 635,000 BTC in Grayscale. Coinbase had less than 600,000 BTC 4 months ago.” However, after Brian Armstrong responded to this, CZ deleted the tweet and admitted that the number was wrong.

CryptoQuant.com also commented on this, saying that since Coinbase uses a one-time wallet for every deposit, no on-chain data provider is able to provide a full Coinbase BTC reserve. Hope exchanges move customer funds to fewer wallets instead of many one-time wallets for greater transparency. (PANews report)
