Giants such as Apple, Nvidia and Pixar formed alliances to develop metaverse 3D graphics standards / One end of the metaverse’s distant horizon
According to surging news reports, Apple, Nvidia, Pixar, Adobe and Autodesk jointly formed the OpenUSD Alliance (AOUSD). Several companies did not specifically talk about the “metaverse” at the launch, but they are promoting one of the key characteristics of the open metaverse ~ interoperability between 3D tools and data. OpenUSD is an open data format developed by Pixar Animation Studios that allows teams to collaborate on large-scale 3D workflows and share information about 3D objects and environments that can be used in AR (Augmented Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality) projects. The OpenUSD Alliance will develop written specifications detailing OpenUSD features. (PANews report)
For a long time, the metaverse theme has wanted to recreate the scenes of “Ready Player One” and “The Three-body Problem”, and it is no wonder that traditional giants want to develop 3D graphics standards in order to grasp the opportunity after the popularity of the metaverse in the future. At present, the development is biased towards reality into the virtual, so is it possible to reverse the operation of the virtual into the real? For example, “Space Jam” scenes or holographic projection technology is mature, coupled with AI-assisted action and voice learning, XR devices should also be affordable and lightweight. So AI, IoT, Blockchain, 5/6G & Computing are maturely integrated into the Laleverse platform, what will this mean? (SDChain report)
SixDomainChain (SDChain) is the world’s first decentralized public blockchain ecosystem that integrates international standards of IoT Six-Domain Model and reference architecture standards for distributed blockchain.
