Hawaii completes the regulatory sandbox, and crypto companies no longer need an intrastate currency transfer license / Sandboxes, sand dunes, swaying coconut trees in Hawaii

The Hawaii State Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs and the Hawaii Technology Development Corporation (HTDC) announced Friday that the state’s regulatory sandbox, the Digital Currency Innovation Lab (DCIL), ended June 30, as reported by Bitcoin.com. DCIL is a two-year pilot program that allows participating digital currency companies to operate in Hawaii without the need for a state money transfer permit. The end of the program means that these companies will no longer need this license to do business in Hawaii, but will still be subject to federal licensing, registration requirements, and consumer protection and anti-money laundering regulations.
